Our service with entire enrolment and student visa process (including lodgement of your student visa by a Registered Migration Agent) is free as long as you enrol to study through our agency. In some circumstances we charge a service fee if we anticipate there will be a lot of additional work. For example de-facto couples that are not married or students who have had their visas cancelled or refused previously. If any fee applies, we will advise you during first free consultation. Read more about our service.
Why wouldn't you? There are no additional costs involved for you, the school fees are same or lower (never higher) than directly at school. Plus we guide you through all the process, deal with all the paperwork - including enrolment, preparing your visa application and GTE statement - and your student visa is lodged by our Registered Migration Agent. Once studying, you have our continuous advice and help if your circumstances or plans change. Read more about our service.
There are wide variety of study options, but the course must be on CRICOS list. The course must be full-time (officially at least 20h a week) and can't be an online course. Read more about English language courses, studying at college and degree level studies. College studies are most popular among international students wishing to stay longer in Australia, as the fees are reasonable and the timetables flexible for students juggling study and everyday life/work commitments.
No, student visa is only granted for courses that are registered as full-time (generally 20 hours a week). Check CRICOS for eligible courses.
The tuition fees depend on course, educational institution and duration of course. The cost of language courses is generally $190-270 per week, colleges $1350-2500 per term (usually 4 terms a year), university programs from $7000 per semester (2 semesters a year). In addition there is student visa fee and cost of health insurance (OSHC).
The student visa fee is currently $560 (plus credit card fee) for a single student, $980 (plus credit card fee) for a couple. You can confirm fees on the DoHA website. Please note that if you apply for 2nd visa while being Australia, additional $700 surcharge applies per applicant. In addition there is cost for obligatory health insurance (OSHC) and of course tuition fees.
OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) is compulsory health insurance that all international students in Australia must have. This is a special insurance only offered by Australian companies (Visafy represents most of them so you can easily organise your OSHC through us). The insurance must be bought for entire duration of course. It costs approx $470-500 per year (depending on company) for a single student, for a couple the costs are much higher (more than double). You can read more about OSHC here.
You must pay be able to pay 1st school installment, OSHC insurance for entire duration of your studies and student visa fee before lodging your student visa application. The 1st school installment depends on a chosen course, for college it is 1 term tuition fees plus enrolment fee and any material fees (the enrolment fee and material fee depend on a college, but expect additional $150-350).For OSHC costs and visa fees see relevant questions.
No, you can study at any age. However you must be able to meet GTE (Genuine Temporary Entrant) requirements.
The Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) requirement is an integrity measure that now applies to all student visa applicants. You must prove to the the Department (case officer) that you have a genuine intention to stay in Australia temporarily and your main reason of being in Australia is to study. Every student must provide explanatory letter, which might include evidence of your financial and employment situation, reasons/motivation for undertaking studies in Australia and how these studies relate to your future plans - in your home country. PLEASE NOTE: If you enrol to studies via our agency, we will provide more information and help you to prepare this relevant statement.
Yes, as long as you hold a valid substantive visa and there is not a condition "no further stay" on it.
Generally, you need to present results of some international language test (e.g. IELTS) to enrol to a college or university. For college enrolments you should have at least IELTS score of 5.5, for universities 6 or 7. Many colleges also accept other forms of testing and in most cases we can organise a free language test for you directly at a given college. Contact us for more information.
It depends on the case officer processing your visa application. You are asked to declare in your visa application that you have access to sufficient funds and this is enough for most our clients. However in some circumstances you need to evidence that you have genuine access to those funds - we will advise if this applies to you. The official financial requirements for student visa are explained on this link.
Technically you can apply even on the last day of your current visa, but we recommend not to leave it until the last moment. Once your student visa application is lodged and your previous visa expires, you’ll be on bridging visa. Ideally you should have at least 1 month for all the paperwork and preparation.
Consultation regarding student visa is free. If you wish to discuss any other visas or have a Visa Eligibility Assessment with Registered Migration Agent, fees apply depending on visa type and your circumstances. We offer free initial consultation regarding other visas to all our student clients (who have already enrolled and started to study through Visafy). For others the initial consultation usually costs $150.
