In December there will be some changes to Western Australia State Nomination Migration Program. So far only international students obtaining degree level studies were able to be nominated by state, but It is intended that now also vocational education and training (VET) students will be included. This means that students who complete qualification in Western Australia at Certificate III level or above (with some exception of trade occupations) may be eligible for State Nomination in WA.

It is planned that two years study at colleges and/or universities in WA will count towards meeting nomination requirement. In addition, international students will need to obtain positive skills assessment (depending on occupation there are different requirements for this) and demonstrate that they have either 6 months of work experience in the nominated occupation in WA or an employment contract for at least 6 months in WA.

The first invitation round to include college graduates will be issued in December 2019. Also new Graduate Occupation List and updated eligibility criteria for the Graduate stream will be published on the WA Migration portal prior to the December invitation round.

Current Occupationa List of WA is listed here

As soon as new requirements are published, we will start offering migration consultation and eligibility assessments for WA State Nomination visa pathway, with special focus on students enrolled to study by Visafy.
