Skilled migration
Skilled Migration Program was introduced to address skill shortage in Australia. There are wide variety of visas available for skilled professionals who want to work and live in Australia permanently.
Since 2012 all applicants must submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) and then be invited through SkillSelect to apply.
The general requirements for skilled migration are:
- Your occupation (based on education, qualifications and/or experience) is on Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
- Your qualification is assessed and approved by a specific Australian assessment authority.
- You must score certain amount of points in test based on age, English language ability, recent work experience etc. To be invited through SkillSelect the amount of points necessary varies accoding to occupation.
There are exceptions to these requirements under Regional Migration Scheme, Employer Nominated Scheme etc. Please contact us to discuss your circumstances.
